NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WJAR) -- New Bedford police laid to rest one of their longtime K9's this week.
Thor served the department from 2015 to 2021, serving as an ATF-certified Explosive Ordinance Detection dog while also helping officers track down firearms, explosives, and other evidence.
Thor was in the care of his former handler, Sgt. Trevor Sylvia after his retirement.
Officers held a funeral for Thor this week, carrying his casket draped with an American flag over top.
