This is an upgrade from the earlier Smart Door Lock 4 Pro, launched this year, which adds more advanced hardware, enhanced security features, and longer battery life. The largest highlight of the Dual Camera Edition is right in its name-it features two cameras, instead of one. There's a main 3MP camera, offering a wider field of view at 160°, while the secondary is a 2MP shooter with a 128° FOV. Compared to the default variant's single 2MP sensor with its 152° FOV, this new setup brings in a wider aspect and clear visuals that enable you to identify the visitor correctly, minimize blind spots at the doorway, and see whatever activity is happening even in low light conditions.
Xiaomi has retained the impressive list of twelve unlocking methods. Users can open the door through AI facial recognition, palm vein scanning, fingerprint authentication, NFC, Bluetooth, and traditional passcodes. In case of emergency, even a physical key has also been included. With so many authentication methods, households can select techniques that best work for them without compromising safety or convenience.
To improve interaction inside the home, the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro features a 3.97-inch display showing a live view of who's outside. Equipped with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the lock smoothly connects to the Xiaomi Home app. That means users can stream video remotely, get alerted when someone approaches or tampers with the door, and tinker with settings from anywhere. The battery life gets another significant bump. The new Dual Camera Edition incorporates a 6,870mAh lithium battery, combined with four AA alkaline cells, which offers as many as six months of use on one charge.
