One of the fastest growing lifestyle hospitality companies, Ennismore, recently announced the signing of their newest property, The Hoxton, Madrid which is expected to open in 2026. This property is located in Plaza de Santa Ana, one of the most famous historic plazas in Madrid. The Hodton, Poblenou which opened in 2022 was the first property in Spain and was very successful. Hence, the opening of this property will mark the second Ennismore property in Spain While also being the first one in Madrid which will add to the growing portfolio of Ennismore in the European region.

Located in the heart of the cultural district, the building consist of a modernist building designed by the architect, Jesus Carrasco-Munoz y Encina. The Hoxton, Madrid is expected to feature 192 rooms which will also include a couple of suites. This will add to the hotels five categories of rooms. Like many of its other hotels, The Hoxton, Madrid is expected to feature the hotels signature design concept which will represent the unique culture of Madrid.

In Madrid, this approach will be reflected in plush fabrics, muted colour palettes, statement rugs, and retro-chic furnishings inspired by the character of the surrounding neighbourhood. Each of the 192 rooms and suites will include signature Hoxton touches such as the Madrid edition of the "Survival Guide," Roberts Radios, and the exclusive line of Blank toiletries designed for the brand.

The refurbishment of the property will be led by Petra AM, supported by Urban Input Group, who have previously collaborated with Ennismore on successful projects such as The Hoxton, Paris, and The Hoxton, Poblenou. Together, the design teams will aim to restore the building's architectural charm while incorporating modern elements that align with the evolving character of central Madrid.

Dining and Social Spaces

The Hoxton, Madrid will offer several vibrant dining and social venues curated by Ennismore's global Food & Beverage division. The open-plan lobby will serve as the heart of the hotel -- an inviting space that doubles as a community hub for both guests and locals. It will include an all-day coffee bar and lounge area, ideal for meetings, relaxed socialising, or casual work sessions.

One of the highlights of the hotel will be Il Bambini Club, a lively Italian trattoria known for its existing locations in Paris and London. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen and bar, offering classic Mediterranean dishes in a convivial setting.

Above the city, the rooftop venue Cayo Coco will deliver a completely different energy, serving as a vibrant after-work and weekend destination with panoramic views across Madrid's skyline. Guests will enjoy a menu of tropical cocktails, fine wines, and light dishes inspired by Cuban flavours, creating an atmosphere that blends modern European hospitality with the easygoing rhythms of Latin culture.

True to The Hoxton brand's reputation for providing multifunctional social and workspaces, The Hoxton, Madrid will include The Apartment, the brand's signature meeting and events suite. Designed for flexibility, it will feature interconnected rooms that can accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to larger corporate events. The space will include state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, catering options from the hotel's restaurants, and comfortable lounge-style interiors designed to foster creativity and collaboration.

The inclusion of The Apartment strengthens Madrid's position as a destination for business travel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, aligning with the city's ongoing strategy to promote year-round international events and corporate travel.
