Tarentum Summer Concert series to feature the 56 East Band
The Tarentum Summer Concert series will host the 56 East Band in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.
The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.
Back-to-school drive collecting supplies, new clothing
Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center Inc. is conducting a back-to-school drive for the families it serves.
Items needed include backpacks, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, glue sticks, folders, notebooks, binders, scissors and erasers as well as children's socks underwear, shoes and clothing in sizes up to adult small.
Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the administration building, 500 E. Eighth Ave., Tarentum.
