CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) -- Fire crews say one person has been hospitalized with burn injuries after a large townhome fire in Chandler Wednesday afternoon.
Details are limited, but firefighters responded just after 4 p.m. to a townhome on Spartan Street, south of Chandler Boulevard and just west of Gilbert Road.
Chandler Fire says their crews and Gilbert firefighters discovered a fire in the garage had spread to the attic and the adjacent townhome. Aerial video showed the garage destroyed in the blaze with extensive damage to the unit.
One person was treated at the scene for burns to the arms before being taken to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center for further treatment.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
