WWE LFG's Reality Competition Not as Authentic as It Claims

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the 16 contestants battling for an NXT contract are already signed to NXT.

"They have all of these guys -- I think 16 guys, right? I have the names in the Observer, you know that. But anyway, it's 16 guys and they're competing for an NXT contract. OK, and all 16 already have NXT contracts. They're all NXT contracts and they're fighting to win an NXT contract," Meltzer revealed.

He went on to explain how the competition aspect of WWE LFG is essentially scripted, making it more of a storyline than a legitimate contest. "It's like they make this thing a competition and it's like a work from day one. You know, all these people competing to get into WWE, chasing their dreams and everything -- and every single one is already under contract. Many of them have been on house shows, almost all of them."

This revelation raises questions about how LFG is being marketed. WWE has presented the show as a reality-based competition, with legendary mentors like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Mickie James, Booker T, and Bubba Ray Dudley guiding the hopefuls. The show also features appearances from Ric Flair, Road Dogg, Michelle McCool, CM Punk, and GUNTHER, adding to the prestige of the competition.

With LFG now looking more like an elaborate performance than an actual tryout for a contract, fans will have to decide whether they're still invested in the drama -- or if this revelation takes the excitement out of it.

Does knowing LFG is a "work" change how you feel about the show? Do you still think it's worth watching? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
