What happens in Vegas must produce in Vegas. Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly hope their Las Vegas marriage won't be one of those five-second drunken-night unions which looks awful right after it started. This Odd Couple pairing is one of the most intriguing stories of the 2025 NFL offseason, heading into Week 1 in September. Carroll trusted Kelly with his offense. Kelly is now building his Las Vegas Raiders offensive staff as an extension of Carroll's vision for the team.
Raiders Wire has more on how Chip Kelly is building out the offensive staff Carroll was willing to roll with.
"(Connor) McQueen is quickly rising in the coaching ranks. The former Texas A&M QB was a graduate assistant just two years ago. He spent five years as a graduate assistant, first at UCLA under Raiders new OC Chip Kelly. Then he took the same position under Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma, and moved with him to USC.
"In 2023, at the age of 29, McQueen was named the OC at Incarnate Word and last year helped lead the school to become the second ranked offense in the nation at the FCS level. Just nine days ago, McQueen was posting a video on Youtube detailing some of his concepts at UIW."
It is fascinating that a young coach with ties to Kelly and Lincoln Riley will work on a Pete Carroll-led coaching staff. This is going to be so interesting, for better or worse, in Sin City.
