RALEIGH, N.C. (WLOS) -- Gov. Josh Stein has announced nearly $50 million in grants to aid local governments in North Carolina as post-Helene recovery efforts continue.
According to a release from the governor's office on Monday, Dec. 15, these grants aim to fund repairs and renovations for storm-damaged infrastructure in the region.
"Local governments are on the frontlines of Hurricane Helene response and recovery, strengthening their communities and keeping people safe," Stein said in the release. "These grants will help local governments repair or replace critical infrastructure that they lost, restoring Helene-impacted towns and rebuilding them stronger."
