SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO)- After such a warm start to May, the second half of the month has been just the opposite. Now, not only is warmer weather ahead by the weekend, the humidity will come with it as we draw closer to the month of June.
Most folks are probably ready for a change in the weather patterns, especially if you are ready for a real taste of summer. While June will likely feature more swings in the weather, it also starts a month typically associated with more humidity.
As you might expect, typically, the deeper moisture marches northward as the summer season begins. That's shown here by early next week. These airmasses also typically feed larger thunderstorm complexes during the early summer, something very important for regions still running below normal on rainfall
Dew points should respond as well. This map shows the changing numbers. Dew points above 60 start to feel more humid. We should see some of that air moving our way by early next week.
So if you are ready for a more summer feel to the weather, just be patient.
