Ocean City girls basketball beats Southern Regional for 2nd straight victory

Naomi Nnewihe and Gabby Henry each scored 11 points to lead the Ocean City High School girls basketball team to a 40-34 victory over Southern Regional in a War vs. The Shore XI game at Mainland Regional High School.

Marley Ostrander scored 10 for the Red Raiders (11-8). Allie Hudson added six. It was Ocean City's second consecutive victory.

Samantha Russell led Southern (7-9) with 13. Mackenzie Sininsky scored nine, Gabriella Lum seven.

No. 7 Wildwood Catholic downs Donovan Catholic 78-54

Lola McGonigle finished with 21 points and seven assists for the Crusaders (16-3), who are No. 7 in The Press Elite 11.

Dani Daley added18 points and five rebounds. Reagan Flickinger contributed nine points, eight rebounds and three assists. Joelle Murphy added eight points and seven rebounds. Lily King finished with nine rebounds and eight points. Anastasia Bowman scored seven to go with six rebounds.

Alina Gonzalez scored 15. Lyla Brown and Averie Harding each scored 10.

Riley Wheeler scored 20 for Red Bank Regional (12-5).

Lacey defeats Cedar Creek 56-47

Reece Paget and Brooklynn Bell each scored 15 for the Lions (11-7).

Marissa Flores added 11 points, Ava Flanagan six. Erin Gearheart scored five.

Emily Seltzer scored 19 for Cedar Creek (0-18). Arianna Feliciano scored 10, Sabrine Ghazaz eight. Madilynn Winterbottom scored five.

Toms River East earns 48-34 win over Hammonton

Kiley Kozlowski scored 12 for the Blue Devils (12-6).

Angelina Virelli scored nine, Gabriela Stevenson five, Jenna Vivadelli added four.

Kacey Briles scored 12 for Toms River East (16-3).

St. John Vianney hands No. 8 Middle Twp. 58-27 loss

Sarah Farrow finished with 11 rebounds and five points for the Panthers (15-4), who are No. 8 in the Elite 11.

Abbey Cappelletti added six points, two rebounds and two assists. Reagen Powell contributed four points and four rebounds. Isabelle Toland scored nine, McKenzie Palek two.

Taylor Sofilkanich scored a game-high 15 for St. John Vianney (17-4).
