US President Donald Trump has announced he will posthumously award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, following his assassination at Utah Valley University. Speaking at the Pentagon during the 24th anniversary memorial of the September 11 attacks, Trump praised Kirk as 'a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions.'
