This Dartmouth Shaw's Bag Has a Bigger Purpose

Tyler Joseph Leonard Memorial Foundation; Dartmouth Shaw's Supermarket

This September, shopping at Shaw's could help save lives.

Shaw's Supermarket in Dartmouth has selected the Tyler Joseph Leonard Memorial Foundation as its featured nonprofit for the "Give Back Where It Counts" reusable bag program. For every specially marked $3 bag sold, $1 will be donated to the foundation.

This will run for the entire month of September, and each purchase directly supports the foundation's mission of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

The Tyler Joseph Leonard Memorial Foundation was created in memory of Tyler Leonard, a Dartmouth native who died by suicide just one day before his 30th birthday. Since launching in 2022, the foundation has raised thousands of dollars to fund youth mental health programs across the SouthCoast, including peer-led support squads in schools and mental health speaker engagements reaching over 6,500 students.

Run by Tyler's family and close friends, the foundation turns personal tragedy into community action.

All you have to do is look for the "Give Back Where It Counts" bag at the Shaw's on State Road in Dartmouth, checkout as usual and the rest is automatic. One dollar goes directly to the foundation for each bag sold.

The campaign is an easy way to give back while supporting a local cause that's making a real impact. Learn more about the foundation at thetylerjosephleonardmemorialfoundation.org
