Ellington man dies after crash on New York highway

(WFSB) - A crash on a New York highway claimed the life of a Connecticut man on October 5th.

At around 2:50 p.m. officers were called to the town of Canaan, New York after a report of a crash involving a motorcycle, police said.

Following an investigation, it was revealed that a Porsche going southbound on Route 22 tried to make a left turn, but they did not give the right of way to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling northbound.

The motorcyclist was ejected and was flown to Albany Medical Center and died due to the extent of injuries from the crash.

Officials have identified the motorcyclist as 65-year-old Michael J. Landry of Ellington.

The operator of the Porsche, identified as 85-year-old Harold Haber of New York, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Berkshire Medical Center.
