DaBaby is shutting the door on a rumor before it grows legs, directly denying claims that he ever hooked up with Kimora Lee Simmons after Funk Flex sparked chaos on Hot 97.
In a recent Instagram video, DaBaby addressed the chatter head-on and made it clear there was nothing there. He firmly denied any romantic or sexual involvement with the fashion mogul, pushing back on the narrative that started circulating online after Flex's comments went viral.
The situation began following the premiere of Simmons' new reality show "Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane." On Monday morning, December 15, Funk Flex went off on air with accusations that instantly raised
eyebrows. "She's a bird, continue the story!" Flex said. "What's her name? Russell's old wife, right? And DaBaby was beating that! Finish the story!"
The clip, posted on TikTok by @suzyfrmbk, quickly spread, prompting reactions across social media. Until now, neither Simmons nor DaBaby had addressed the claim, letting speculation simmer.
Flex's comments landed just days after Russell Simmons reignited public tension with his ex-wife. The Def Jam co-founder claimed he financially supported Kimora for over two decades and accused her of blocking his relationship with their daughters, Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23. "I have been fighting for my kids love and bread ever since," he wrote on Threads. "You threatened that if I sued you, I would never speak to my kids again. There are two sides to every story."
Russell was responding to a People interview where Kimora discussed her family dynamic. "Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time," she said. "I'm pretty much the primary parent. It's difficult, but I don't know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird."
With DaBaby now publicly clearing his name, attention shifts back to Funk Flex and the ripple effect of unchecked on-air accusations.
