Sterling K. Brown Gives Update on 'This Is Us' Co-Stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, Who Lost Their Homes to the L.A. Fires

While promoting his upcoming Hulu series Paradise, the Emmy winner revealed to Extra that he spoke with Moore and Ventimiglia after both of their homes burned down in the L.A. wildfires.

"[I] talked to Milo, talked to Mandy. Talked to them both. It's difficult. They're just very much in the midst of all of it," he said. "It's one day at a time."

Moore, her family and pets safely evacuated from the fires. "I love you, Altadena. Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets). Honestly, I'm in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family," She captioned in a Jan. 8 Instagram post that included videos of her driving through her community that was destroyed in the flames. "My children's school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together. Sending love to all affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control."

Ventimiglia and his pregnant wife also lost their home due to the fires. The Gilmore Girls actor told CBS News that he watched his house burn down on security cameras.

"I think there's a kind of shock moment where you're going, 'Oh, this is real and this is happening,' and then at a certain point, we just turn it off," Ventimiglia said. "It's like, what good is it to continue watching, you know. We kind of accepted the loss."

Ventimiglia returned to his home to see the rubble that was left. He and his wife are expecting their first child soon, so seeing their nursery gone was an emotional moment. "You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and whatnot, and then you see your neighbors' houses and everything kind of around, and your heart just breaks," he said before adding, "We'll make do" and noting how his family is most important to him.
