Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.

Construction crews began demolition on Hyslop Sports Center, the Fighting Hawks went through Day 5 of fall camp and the program held media day in old Memorial Stadium -- now named Hyslop at Memorial Village.

After morning practice, UND held a lunch followed by comments from head coach Eric Schmidt, offensive coordinator Isaac Fruechte, special teams/nickels coach Shawn Kostich and edge coach Jon Anderson.

The Herald had three reporters and a photographer at the event with stories scheduled across the next days and weeks.

The scene: UND practiced outdoors on the turf at Memorial Field on Tuesday with temps in the 70s.

Play of the day: In 7-on-7 work, Caden Dennis reeled in a tough 50-50 ball in the end zone from quarterback Jerry Kaminski.

Keep an eye on: Jamal Young. The transfer wide receiver from Arizona State had been quiet at fall camp until Tuesday when he hit a number of big plays, utilizing his high-end speed.

Daily dose of QB: The passing game was a bit of a struggle Tuesday for each quarterback, with the wide receivers and tight ends hurting the cause with drops.
