Hillel Cohen, the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem, has served as chair of the
Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern
Studies and head of the Center for the
Study of Zionism, the Yishuv, and the
State of Israel. He is interested in
Jewish-Arab and intra-Jewish relations
and in the ways in which communities and
individuals narrate their own and others'
histories. His books include Good Arabs:
The Israeli Security Agencies and the
Israeli Arabs, 1948-1967 (2008) and Year
Zero of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict 1929
(2013). His latest book, Enemies, a Love
Story: On Mizrahi Jews, Palestinian Arabs
and Ashkenazim was published in Hebrew
last summer and will be published next
year by Penn State University Press.
