Long before Steve Carell embodied Michael Scott in The Office US, Ricky Gervais breathed life into the cringe-worthy crowd-pleaser David Brent in the iconic two-series sitcom The Office.
Featuring Martin Freeman, Mackenzie Crook, Lucy Davis and Beyond Paradise's Sally Bretton, the BBC's The Office was a mockumentary-style comedy centred around a Slough-based paper merchant firm.
Gervais' comedic masterpiece also spawned The Office US, which enjoyed an impressive nine-series run and garnered numerous accolades.
Now, the 64-year-old is set to reprise his role as David Brent in a forthcoming UandGold programme exploring classic British sitcoms.
