SUISUN CITY -- The city's Recreation, Parks, and Marina Department will be hosting a Senior Health Fair on Aug. 28.
"Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of resources, connect with local service providers, enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages, and get important health screenings," Suisun City stated. "Mobile Diabetes Education Center will provide diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screenings."
Additionally, Solano County Public Health will provide the following vaccines for uninsured or underinsured attendees:
* Hepatitis B
* Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
* Pneumococcal
* Shingles
* Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap)
* Varicella
Seniors and caregivers are encouraged to attend the free event, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Joseph Nelson Community Center, 611 Village Drive, in Suisun City.
Seniors will also have the opportunity to participate in Bingocize, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., sponsored by Innovative Health Solutions. it combines the game of bingo with fall prevention exercises.
Vendor applications are being accepted until Aug. 22, and can be submitted to Justeen Singley for approval. Vendor spaces are free and tables and chairs will be provided.
