Folk rock band the Lumineers will return to St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center on July 25.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 through Ticketmaster. American Express cardholders have access to a presale that starts at noon Feb. 18.
The band announced opening acts for the tour, but have yet to specify who will join them in St. Paul. The impressive list includes locals Hippo Campus and Young the Giant, St. Vincent, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Lake Street Dive, Vance Joy, the Backseat Lovers, Dr. Dog, Hippo Campus, Tom Odell and Chance Peña.
The Denver-based Lumineers emerged in 2012 with the single "Ho Hey," which hit No. 1 in the States and the Top 10 across Europe. The band's self-titled debut has been certified triple platinum. At the time, it seemed like the band was destined to become a one-hit wonder, but they've maintained a steady presence on rock radio and are a popular concert draw. Locally, they headlined Target Center in 2013 and 2017, Xcel Energy Center in 2022 and Somerset (Wis.) Amphitheater in 2023.
The tour supports the group's fifth album, "Automatic," which will be released Friday. Inspired by Peter Jackson's Beatles documentary "Get Back," bandmates Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites set up an expansive tracking room at Woodstock's Utopia Studio with two sets of drums, three different pianos and an array of amps, guitars and vocal mics. In a news release, Fraites said the album has "a palpable sense of connection between Wes and me. There's lots of love on this record."
