37 criminals locked up in Yorkshire in October - from paedophile blackmailer to cold-blooded killer - Yorkshire Live

As the months roll on, so do the wheels of justice across Yorkshire as more criminals enter the court docks. Some leave the court the same way they came in - through the security doors - but others are taken away in a van to begin their time behind bars.

October has been another busy month, with some of the region's most dangerous criminals locked up by the courts in Yorkshire. The month saw sentences passed for Alfie Franco, who murdered Syrian refugee Ahmad Mamdouh al Ibrahim in a Huddersfield street after he "brushed past" his then partner, and knife-obsessed Mohammed Umar Khan, who stabbed and murdered Harvey Willgoose at a Sheffield school earlier this year.

Below are the criminals and their crimes which they were put behind bars in October.

Dewsbury man Ramsden was jailed in October after being found guilty of eight counts of indecent assault between 1970 and 1977. He was also found guilty of two counts of indecency with a child.

He was handed a sentence of 13 years, made up of 11 in custody and two years on an extended licence.

He was on licence at the time for similar crimes against elderly people when he tricked his way into the 85-year-old's property. He asked her for £15 to fix her roof tiles. She wanted to call her son but he made his way further inside, asking her if he could use the toilet. The woman took two £10 notes out of her jam jar to get rid of him but he grabbed the cash and took another £180 from the jar, before running away.
