JAMMU, Nov 1: The Sports Wing of Government Polytechnic Jammu organized the Annual Inter-Department Badminton Tournament 2025 in the institution's badminton court.
The inter-department stage was held in men's and women's singles categories. Principal Talet Mahmood and Inderjeet, Workshop Superintendent, were the guests of honour. The Principal encouraged students to participate in sports for overall personality development and advised them to minimize screen time.
In the women's singles final, Ira Sharma (Computer Engineering) defeated Uzma Ganai (Medical Lab Technology) by 2-1, while in the men's singles, Raghuvandan Saini (Mechanical Engineering) beat Keshvem Sharma (Civil Engineering) by 2-1 in a close contest.
The matches were officiated by Amit Sharma, Harjot Kour and Shifali. Amit Sharma, Sports Secretary, presented the vote of thanks. HoDs Rani Devi, Sanjay Koul, Sukhdeep Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Raj Shekhar and Raj Kumar were also present.
