Skyworth Launches G27Q Max With Stunning Visuals and Adaptive Sync - Times Bull

Skyworth G27Q Max gaming monitor: Skyworth has announced a new 27-inch gaming monitor, the G27Q Max, for China, aimed at gamers looking for high refresh rates, vivid imagery, and precise color accuracy without breaking the bank. It is priced at 1,499 yuan, approximately $210 in the US, and is available at an introductory offer of 1,199 yuan, around $168, to fit high-end features into an affordable category.

In fact, Skyworth G27Q Max is equipped with a 2560×1440 Fast IPS panel, combining keen image quality with smooth motion reproduction. The native 240Hz refresh rate can be overclocked up to 250Hz, ensuring fluid action, which is great for competitive gaming. It also cuts ghosting and motion blur with a 1ms GtG response time, which gives fast-paced first-person shooters and e-sports games a more responsive and accurate feel.

Where this monitor stands out is its QD-Mini LED backlight with 220 local dimming zones, allowing deeper contrast and brighter highlights. It peaks at an impressive 1,800 nits in HDR mode and 750 nits in SDR mode, supporting automatic HDR switching for compatible content. Besides that, the screen offers great color coverage, including 100% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3, and 99% Adobe RGB, making it suitable for creative professionals. Additionally, the display comes factory-calibrated with ΔE<1 to ensure accurate, life-like color right out of the box.

Skyworth provides several preset color modes by default for profiles like Adobe RGB, BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Rec 709. It has the Luma Boost engine to enhance SDR brightness, and there's a 30-level tuning system for ensuring granular control over tone mapping, brightness, and color balance. Regarding gamers, added advantages include Dynamic Overdrive and ten levels of OD tuning for precise response tailoring.

The G27Q Max incorporates several software tools through its Sky-SyncHub platform, including AI-powered detection that auto-adjusts settings for FPS, RPG, MOBA, and reading scenarios. Gamers also receive custom crosshairs to help with firing accuracy, dark area enhancement to help detect enemies lurking in the shade, real-time frame rate monitoring, and on-screen timers that are useful during competitive matches.

On the ports front, the monitor provides for two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with dual 3W stereo speakers and a five-way joystick for easier menu navigation. In terms of comfort, the stand supports 130mm height adjustment, 5° to +21° tilt, swivel, and ±90° pivot. It weighs approximately 4.9kg with the stand and fits 75×75mm VESA mounting brackets.

Skyworth's launch comes at a time when other brands are introducing high-refresh-rate products. HKC has just announced the 400Hz UG27EQ, while Redmi is releasing the curved G34WQ with a 180Hz panel. But none of those have Mini LED backlighting and HDR functions in such an affordable price bracket as the G27Q Max.
