SANDY, Utah (KUTV) -- A woman was hospitalized with second-degree burns after her house caught fire.

Sandy City Fire Chief Ryan McConaghie said the fire, burning off 1800 East, was reported just after 3 p.m. on Sunday.

All of the residents were able to evacuate, although the homeowner suffered second-degree burns and injuries, McConaghie said.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames within 30 minutes, but the home suffered an estimated $200,000 to $300,000 in damages and was deemed inhabitable.

The official cause of the fire has not been determined, but barbecue is suspected, McConaghie said.
