Home Paige - An Upcoming Indie 3D Platformer's Kickstarter Kicks off Without a Hitch October 21 -

Independent game studio Minimin has been gradually releasing information about their very first project, Home Paige, to netizens since late August. Short-form introductory videos acclimating potential fans to the colorful cast of characters the upcoming title had to offer drew in a vast audience in very little time. As of October 6, it was announced that the project's Kickstarter fund would start shortly, and on October 21, it officially began. Thanks to the ample amount of time Minimin afforded between introducing audiences to the world of Home Paige and the game's eventual Kickstarter, the project has unsurprisingly far surpassed its initial funding goal well before the campaign's completion. Thanks to this, the project has reached eight of its ten planned stretch goals as of today. With a base request of $18,000 to finance the game's development, Home Paige has so far seen 1,908 backers pledge a total of $87,035.

Home Paige is a traditional physics-based 3D platformer at heart. Developed by a team whose background consists largely of incredibly strong 3D animators, the game is planned to feature fully animated narrative story elements whose heavily cartoon-inspired, bouncy cutscene visuals have been previewed all over Minimin's many social media outlets. Home Paige is described on Kickstarter as being heavily inspired by other games in its genre, with the team specifically naming the fan-made Doom engine Sonic the Hedgehog mod, SRB2 (Sonic Robo Blast 2), Super Mario Galaxy, and the popular Roblox 3D platformer, Robot 64. You will step into the shoes of Paige, an optimistic girl who has lived inside of your 90s computer desktop's recycling bin her whole life.

Based on early footage of the game, Home Paige is bleeding nostalgia for the Wii-era of video game and user interface design, popularized online alongside similar aesthetics, namely Frutiger-Aero. This observation of the project's style is doubled down upon by the very first stretch goal present on the game's Kickstarter, as it is given the title "Snaptic crossover". Snaptic, being a fellow massively talented 3D animator and indie game developer with a similarly retro style at the core of their design, the announcement of Snaptic and Minimin working together in some capacity is truly exciting for retro 3D platformer fans.

Though Home Paige has yet to receive a release date as its Kickstarter campaign is still underway, the team has high hopes for a possible release window detailed on their website. It is stated that the first chapter of Home Paige's story will (hopefully) be nearing completion 12-16 months from now, meaning gamers can hold out hope for a possible 2026-27 release window, though the team urges that this statement be taken with a grain of salt.
