NIU Invest SE, led by Austrian investor Cevdet Caner, has completed its subscription for new Ordinary Shares in Critical Metals PLC, acquiring 61,402,390 shares and securing a majority stake of 60.34%.
Critical Metals holds a 70% interest in the Molulu Project, a cobalt and copper mining asset near Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Previously mined by artisanal miners, the project was acquired by Critical Metals in September 2022. The company plans to develop it further to maximize its value.
NIU focuses on entrepreneurship and value creation as a leading investment firm in Europe and the U.S. Caner, with over two decades of experience in mining and property investments, aims to expand NIU's portfolio in 2025 by acquiring critical mining assets to support long-term growth and meet global demands in advanced industries and technologies.
