Apple Watch 10 vs Xiaomi Band 9 Pro: Display, Battery, and Features Compared - Times Bull

Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro vs Apple Watch Series 10: When it comes to wearables, Xiaomi and Apple have always dominated their corners of the market, one for its affordability and the other for premium features. The new launches that came about in 2024 were the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro and Apple Watch Series 10 GPS+Cellular, and both have been highly talked about. The question is which one actually delivers on fitness tracking, smart connectivity, and long-lasting performance. Let's find out.

Apple Watch Series 10 runs on the new S10 dual-core processor, paired with watchOS for smoother transitions, faster app loading, and better battery optimization. It also comes with 64GB of internal memory, giving it a huge edge for app and media storage.

In contrast, Xiaomi's Smart Band 9 Pro features HyperOS 2. This is more set around fitness tracking and battery efficiency than raw performance. While it doesn't offer the same processing power as Apple's chipset, it still handles notifications, fitness tracking, and quick navigation efficiently, making it ideal for daily use without lag.

While both are rectangular in shape, they differ mainly in the implementation of display technology. The Apple Watch Series 10 includes a 46mm LTPO OLED Retina display with 2000 nits brightness for better visibility under direct sunlight. It also features an Always-On Display that shows the time and notifications at any given moment.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro has a 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 336×480. It looks vibrant and quite sharp for its size. Though the screen is not as bright as Apple's, it's lighter at just 24.5g, compared to Apple's 35.3g. The minimal weight makes the Xiaomi more comfortable to wear all day.

Some of the key sensors included in the Apple Watch Series 10 are ECG, blood oxygen, altimeter, gyroscope, and a depth gauge. It also offers Emergency SOS and international calling, making it more of a health companion than just a fitness device.

Xiaomi's Smart Band 9 Pro keeps things to the basics: heart rate, SpO2, and step tracking. It efficiently covers the basic needs of fitness but is devoid of advanced sensors such as ECG or depth tracking. For regular workouts, going for walks, or tracking sleep, though, it does quite well.

Where it trumps is in its battery life. The 350mAh lasts for up to 21 days, making this one of the longest-lasting fitness bands. On the other hand, Apple Watch Series 10 is powerful but lasts around 18 hours owing to its always-on display and advanced features.

Both have Bluetooth connectivity, with Xiaomi offering version 5.4 and Apple featuring 5.3. Apple brings Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, and cellular calling, while Xiaomi adds GNSS for location tracking.
