A fire damaged a single-family home in Santa Ynez on Tuesday morning, but the occupants escaped the burning structure, authorities said.
Just before 10 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the incident in the 1300 block of Deer Trail Lane, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
Firefighters arrived to find a working fire inside the single-story home.
The occupants had escaped the residence located off North Refugio Road.
California Highway Patrol officers and Santa Barbara County sheriff's deputies also responded to assist at the scene including providing traffic control.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
