South Academy Boulevard at Bradley Road will see multiple one-way closures starting Monday over U.S. 85/87. The construction is part of a project to weld and install new bridge structures to widen a 1.5-mile portion of South Academy from two lanes to three, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
CDOT said in a news release that commuters should expect one-way northbound closures 7 a.m. through the evening commute, then resume southbound from 7 p.m. through the next morning commute. Multiple daytime and nighttime closures are scheduled, subject to change based on weather conditions:
Monday-Wednesday: Northbound South Academy Boulevard closed at Bradley Road from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Thursday: Maxwell Street closed near South Academy Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.Friday-Monday, March 3: Southbound South Academy Boulevard closed at Bradley Road from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
For northbound closures, traffic will divert by exiting U.S. 85/87 and traveling south to Main Street, then north on Bradley Road to reenter South Academy .
Southbound traffic will divert by exiting the highway at Bradley Road, traveling east to Main Street, then south onto U.S. 85/87, and north to re-enter South Academy Boulevard.

The closures will not be the last to hit the area for road work and inspection, the Department of Transportation said in the release. Crews will also soon be closing lanes to inspect concrete panels and a damaged guardrail and cable rail on Interstate 25 between Fountain and South Academy Boulevard which will cause full closures:
Thursday: Southbound Interstate 25 closed from Fountain to South Academy Boulevard at mile marker 127 to 135 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.Tuesday, March 4: Northbound South Academy closed from Fountain to South Academy at mile marker 127 to 135 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
For southbound closures, traffic will divert by exiting the highway at Mesa Ridge Parkway (exit 132) and traveling to U.S. 85/87, then turning south to continue to Santa Fe Avenue to reenter I-25.
Northbound traffic will divert by exiting the highway at Santa Fe Avenue, traveling north onto the U.S. 85/87 to Mesa Ridge Parkway, then turning west to reenter I-25.
