LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2025) It has been decided to expand the Environmental Protection Force (EPF) in Punjab, in this regard, 441 new posts have been approved in 10 districts.
A budget of Rs 261.2 million has also been approved for the force, while the P&D board has also approved the regular PC-1.
This force will deal with air pollution and environmental hazards, more personnel and modern technology will be added to the EPF, while in addition, the force is active in 10 districts including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi.
According to the Environment Protection Department sources, the force is being equipped with drones, mobile air quality stations. They said action will be taken against industrial waste, burning of crop residues, smog. Meanwhile, monitoring of burning fields, brick kilns, waste water units has been tightened, while according to the Environment Department sources, the expansion of the force will increase the law enforcement capacity.
