Letter: Brown's leadership is exactly what Yakima needs

Letter: Brown's leadership is exactly what Yakima needs

To the editor -- Let's be honest. Yakima has not always been known for being the safest place to live. But I love this city, and Yakima has been our home for generations. I still believe we can become a safer and better Yakima, and that's why I fully support Matt Brown for City Council.

Since Matt has been on the council, I've watched him focus on what matters most to families and small business owners like us. When he started, Yakima was facing a $22 million deficit by 2026. He worked hard to shrink that gap while keeping police and fire services fully supported. I've seen him show up again and again at community events, working to make Yakima better and loving this town just as much as I do. That's the kind of leadership we need!

Yakima has grown stronger with more businesses opening and more opportunities for families. Public safety has improved under new leadership in the police department, something Matt has consistently supported.

What I appreciate most about Matt is that he's all in for Yakima, standing up for our businesses and families, listening to what matters most, and working for real, lasting solutions.
