Carnival Cruise Lines Alters Guest Age Requirements

Galveston, Texas is one of the busiest ports on the planet, and very commonly used as a embarking point for luxury cruises departing for adventures into the Gulf of America, and the biggest player in town just announced major changes for passengers. As a top 10 departure location for cruises across the globe, over 3 million guests boarded nearly 400 sailings in 2024.

According to this KHOU article, effectively immediately Carnival Cruise Lines will no longer be allowing guests aboard their vessels that are under age 21 unless they are accompanied by someone who is at least 25 with a couple of exceptions.

We can spend all year debating all the logical and even illogical reasons for Carnival to amend their guest policies, but considering spring break season begins in just days with the welcoming of March, I'd guess both Carnival and their senior aged guests are probably displeased with young folk acting a fool on their relaxation retreats.

As more people are attempting to enjoy that salt life, poop beaches are causing some people to avoid the shores of the Lone Star State, and seek paradise in other locations. You do feel somewhat badly for those young adults that wanted to visit international seas where the legal age to drink is not 21, but the spring break/bachelorette parties seem to be a thing of the past.
