The Louis Vuitton Biker Bag Might Just Be the House's Next Big Hit

If anyone knows how to design a guaranteed It Bag, it's Nicolas Ghesquière. The City Bag, which the now Louis Vuitton women's creative director created for Balenciaga in 2000, is still going strong. His latest? LV's Biker bag, which you've no doubt caught a glimpse of on Instagram as the campaign was rolling out over the weekend.

For Vuitton's spring collection, Ghesquière explored the concept of "soft power." You'll have to look to find the house's signature monogram as it's used only on the bag's interior -- and that's all that's needed with 171 years of history behind it. Instead, you'll find a far more subtle LV medallion placed atop the bag's front pocket flap.

Ghesquière himself is no stranger to biker aesthetics and can often be seen sporting black leather outerwear, and while the influence was also strong on the spring runways, the look isn't for everyone. But with nods to the classic silhouettes of Vuitton's iconic Keepall and Speedy styles, the LV Biker is the perfect gateway accessory that can be worn with ease.

Available in three sizes (MM, PM, and Nano) and a variety of classic hues, the Biker's myriad strap combinations allow it to be carried as a clutch, on the shoulder, as a crossbody, and more. Given the Speedy's popularity among men, thanks in no small part to Vuitton Men's creative director Pharrell Williams, we predict the LV Biker will have plenty of crossover appeal as well.
