Former New Mexico head coach Danny Gonzales is being promoted to defensive coordinator at Arizona, the program announced Thursday.
The Albuquerque native and UNM graduate spent last season as the Wildcats' special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. He replaces Duane Akina, who was demoted to secondary coach by head coach Brent Brennan in December.
